SALONI MITAL is Managing Editor, Penguin Random House India, with more than 12 years of experience in editing books, and writing and editing reports and features for newspapers. In her role she has edited and sent more than 250 books to press, and edited reports, columns and features, and written news stories for two major national dailies—Mint Lounge and The New Indian Express. She was awarded the prestigious Rex Karmaveer Global Fellowship and Karmaveer Chakra 2014–15 for the stories she reported and wrote for The New Indian Express. YATEENDRA JOSHI, Freelance Copyeditor and Trainer, has been editing technical documents for nearly 35 years, a career change he made after working for a decade as a scientist with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (1978–88). He was with TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) in New Delhi for 15 years, moved to Pune to work with WISE (World Institute of Sustainable Energy) in 2005, and has been freelancing since 2007, dividing his time between freelance copy-editing and teaching.
Yateen has conducted training programmes and delivered webinars at several of India’s premier institutions including the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; the IITs (Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur); and National Chemical Laboratory, Pune.
Yateen is one of the only 30 editors worldwide (and so far the only one from India) recognized as master editors by BELS, the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences, USA.
